Atheists (and Apostates) in Islam

Is Islam as tolerant and peaceful as people make it out to be? Maybe we should ask the atheists and apostates who were (un)lucky enough to deal with Islam and its adherents.

Just thought about this. The reason الله will throw Christians and Jews in place of adherents to Islam and not atheists, is because atheists don’t exist in the Islamic world, not even as slaves. Mary was an Egyptian Christian slave. Christians and Jews can be enslaved, but weeding out the atheists by death gets rid of any outside views. When do we ever read in the Qur’an, Hadiths, or Sira about an atheist slave? We really don’t. What happens to them? They are slaughtered. In fact, from the conversations I had with several adherents, being gay is horrible but tolerable, while being an atheist is deserving of the death penalty (apostasy).
